Серед диких степів, де простори ланів,
Там де вітер по полі гуляє.
Там в чужій стороні, без рідні, без сім’ї,
Молодий партизан умирає.
Рідний край він любив і дівчину лишив,
І пішов з ворогом воювати.
Бо той ворог лихий рідний край дорогий
Став вогнем і мечем руйнувати.
В потемнілих очах відбивається жаль,
Що умре молодим на чужині,
Що вітри і сніги заметуть його сліди,
І не буде його на Вкраїні.
Він не плакав за тим, що умре молодим,
Бо лиш вічне є небо над нами.
Йому жаль одного: що могилу його
Замете на чужині снігами.
Серед диких степів, де простори ланів,
Заросте лиш трава там бур’яна...
А хто міг би прийти і цвіток принести,
На могилу оту партизана.
