Шлях стелився нам через Карпати,

На чужину там долі шукати,
А доля нас гнала аж за океан...
Батько й мати мені обіцяли,
Що по войні вернемось домів.
Сорок років даремно чекали,
Я далі чекаю сама без батьків.
Часом сниться мені рідна хата,
Коло хати золоті лани.
Тужні пісні чую з України
Про мамину вишню і мої ясени.
Хоч неправда панує над світом,
То для неї вже гряде кінець.
Зрозуміла тут я на чужині,
